The 44th Anniversary Commemoration of the 5.18 Gwangju Democratization Movement took place on May 18th at the Auckland Korean Society Hall, co-hosted by the 'A Better World' New Zealand Korean Community and the Auckland Korean Association.
Consul General Kim Hong-gi attended the event, laying a wreath in honor of those who sacrificed for the 5.18 Democratization Movement and delivering a presidential commemorative speech. Together with fellow Koreans, he reflected on the significance of the Gwangju Democratization Movement.
